Cheerz: 4Minute "Mirror Mirror"

This week's Cheerz is the antidote to 4Minute's latest song, "What's Your Name?" After Crapfest 2013, I needed to musically cleanse myself.

Review: 4Minute's "What's Your Name?"

Today, I discovered that teaser extrapolation works. My judgement of 4Minute's new song, "What's Your Name?" based solely on the teaser video accurately described what the full song would be like.

The Best of the Worst: April 25

A sea of digitally produced fans

Welcome back, friends. This week in bad kpop, we have Jay Park in a bikini, a Sleeping Beauty, and bad Photoshopping. Enjoy.

Teaser judgement: 4Minute's "What's Your Name?"

The deluge of comebacks by some of my favorite kpop acts (4Minute, Juniel and Secret) has gotten me all worked up this week. Since I'm too impatient to wait for 4Minute's "What's Your Name?" to actually come out, I went and did a bad thing again: I watched the teaser video. I try not to do this, but sometimes, I just can't help myself. (Because I naughty, naughty)

I will now pass judgement on a song I have not heard in full. Let's call this teaser extrapolation if you will.

Comprehensive list of possible names for the new T-ara trio

As everyone knows N4, the new T-ara subgroup, is debuting soon but what about the rest of the T-ara members I hear you asking? Well you need not fear, intrepid T-ara fan. Soyeon, Qri, and Boram are forming their very own subgroup. Below are the most logical names for this epic subgroup:

Know your k-pop - GLAM

Apparently she didn't, "Like dat"

GLAM, which you could could be forgiven for thinking stands for, "Gonorrhea, Lobster hand, and Mental retardation (the most common side effects from listening to them) is actually a relatively new k-pop group from South Korea.

The Best of the Worst: April 18

Rumors dominated kpop news this week. We got to see a dating rumor turn out to be true. We heard the truth behind another idol's dark secret. And idol speculation? You bet.

It was basically like high school if high school had hotter people.

That nasty

The latest word on the idol gossip street is that Tony An, formerly of H.O.T., and Girl's Day's Hyeri are dating. For those of you trying to figure out the age gap math, I'll save you the trouble. It's 16 years. He was born in 1978, she in 1994. In other words, he's in his mid-30s, and she's 18 (by U.S. standards, anyway).

I see Tony's giving himself his own High-Five of Teenager.

Cheerz: Beast "Beautiful Night"

This week's Cheerz is all about hot boys in bad outfits. Enjoy the song and the crimes against fashion.

Pastel pants for all!

The Best of the Worst: April 11

This week was slow on the kcrap side. It was as though the kpop industry was, like, focusing on music or something. ikr?

We were still able to mine a small collection of nonsense nuggets for you, though. We've got an unfortunate subgroup name, a crime against Jiyeon, and a Psy tramp stamp.

LEDApple covers make me happy, even when they suck

For the past few months, LEDApple has been releasing weekly YouTube videos of the group covering Korean and English pop songs. It's part of a charity Music Note project they're working on. Kids in need get money; viewers get cheesy videos of the boys covering random songs.

Like really random. The group bounces around each week, performing everything from SNSD and Big Bang to The Biebs and Queen.

Like baby, baby, baby, oh hell no ...

Cheerz: Brown Eyed Girls "Abracadabra"

It took me awhile to warm to this song, but when I did, there was no looking back.

The Best of the Worst: April 4

Another week, another mountain of crap in the kpop world. We've got a creeper idol, an ever-evolving face, and classy shooting time.

I'd take a bullet for you, G-Dragon. OK, not really.
But I would take a photo of you if I saw you in the airport.

On being a sad flake

First off, sorry for being M.I.A. the past few days and flaking out on Friday's Cheerz.
